Online bass tuner for 4-string bass
Tune your bass guitar in the browser: allow the microphone and pluck a string. Exact Tune shows the note and how far you are off, down to the low E at 41.2 Hz.
Phone and laptop microphones hear very low notes poorly. Exact Tune also recognises the string from its overtones, so the low E and A strings are detected reliably.

Bass tuner questions
What is standard bass tuning?
A 4-string bass is tuned E1 (41.20 Hz), A1 (55 Hz), D2 (73.42 Hz), G2 (98 Hz) – one octave below the four lowest guitar strings.
Why does my phone not hear the low E string?
Small microphones barely pick up frequencies around 40 Hz. Exact Tune also uses the overtones of the string, so it still finds the right note.
Can I tune an electric bass without an amp?
Yes. Pluck firmly and hold the phone close to the strings. With an amp, put the phone near the speaker.
